Panasonic Homes recently announced plans to enter the lodging business in Tokyo and Osaka, with foreign tourists as the target demographic. Back in April, Panasonic Homes started construction of a building in Tokyo that will be used for short-term rentals. They also stated that the apartments could be converted to standard rentals in response to demand.

The room sizes will be around 40 square meters with 54 rooms in total. A maximum of 5 people can stay in each room, and the average charge is expected to be approximately ¥10,500 per night. The are primary target will be foreign tourists visiting Japan who travel in large groups, such as families.

The rooms will come equipped with a Panasonic kitchen, bathroom and toilet. The Osaka buildings are expected to be constructed in the Namba and Shinsaibashi districts.
