Conveniently located 3-4 minutes from JR Ebisu station, Sushi Ono is a six-seater counter-style dining experience. It's what a traditional sushi restaurant in Japan should look like. There are some foreign diners but 70% of the customers are native Japanese. Always a good sign of authentic, delicious food. Many regulars visit just to eat their Ono Special rolled sushi, containing broiled toro (fatty tuna), finely chopped baby onions and baby wasabi. The chef delivers well crafted, unforgettable sushi dishes you won't forget.
2. Sushi Shinobu
This restaurant is hidden away in an alley in Ebisu and even locals have a hard time finding it. In fact, it's mostly only frequented by locals since the majority of available information about it is difficult to find in English. The atmosphere is like a speak-easy and the prices are reasonable. The dishes are unique and delicious, especially the nigiri. Chef Shinobu's smile is almost better than his cooking...almost.
3. Sushi Takehan

For an incredible sushi experience, you must try Sushi Takehan. Walking distance from Ebisu Station or Daikanyama Station, make a reservation as seating is limited. There's a fantastic selection of fish and the omakese set menu, the grilled squid skewer and blow-torched red snapper are amazing. The sushi is upscale and outstandingly good. You might find it a little pricey but it's worth every penny. Be prepared to try new things to enjoy the beauty of this authentic and special place.
4. Sushi Kuriyagawa

Sushi Kuriyagawa ranks at the top of Tokyo's high-end restaurants. The chef, Koichi Kuriyagawa, says he tries to serve his guests something they have never had before. And he delivers with dishes like yaki-zushi (grilled sushi), which consists of crab meat, sushi rice and quail egg, placed on a piece of cedar wood and lightly grilled in the oven or makimono-chazuke which is rolled sushi placed in a bowl with soup poured over it. Watching the chef put together each morsel is like watching a dance. It's an amazing omakase menu with innovative and mouth-watering sushi. Whenever you're in Ebisu...you Must try it.
5. Ginpei Ebisu

Ginpei has become a popular restaurant with branches in various cities like Tokyo and Osaka. The Ebisu location is an excellent spot for overlooking the night view of Tokyo from the newly renovated TOP OF YEBISU. The chef, Uosho Ginpei, firmly believes in cooking fish in a way that doesn't distract from the fish's natural flavors. For example, the nizakana (simmered fish) isn't seasoned with sweet wine or sake but is cooked only in water and soy sauce. Savor their famous tai-meshi (rice with minced sea bream) and fresh seasonal fishes directly shipped from Wakayama. And all customers are treated to 5 types of assorted appetizers with every dinner. Ginpei's proudly beautiful gourmet course meals are an experience you won't want to miss.
