"Rendering of Proposed Haneda Airport Garden Project" by Sumitomo Realty and Development Co., Ltd.

Sumitomo Real Estate announced that it has plans to open a new hotel complex named “Haneda Airport Garden” that will be directly connected to Haneda Airport. The complex is scheduled to open in the spring of 2020 just before the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The project, which has been in the works since 2016, will be developed on a 4.3-hectare plot of land.  A need was found due to the scarcity of hotels around the airport. Two hotels will be constructed on the site. The leading developer is Haneda Airport Urban Development Co., Ltd. who will complete the project and leave the management of the premises to Sumitomo Real Estate. Additional development is planned for the site, but no other details have been released at this time.

The facility will be 12 stories high and have a total site area of approximately 91,000 square meters. The project will be connected to the Haneda International Terminal and the Tokyo Monorail stations on the Keikyu Line. The hotel will be named the “Villa Fontaine Premier,” which is part of the Villa Fontaine brand. “Villa Fontaine Premier Haneda Airport” will have 160 rooms for guests, and the premium facility “Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport” will have 1,557 rooms. On the top floor will sit a 2,000 square meter onsen facility. Additional facilities will include a 1,100 square meter event hall, a bus terminal, five event spaces, thirty retails stores, as well as cafes and restaurants with a seating capacity for 1,600 people. There will also be commercial facilities, some of which will have Japanese cultural exhibitions on display. An “Omotenashi Center” offering tourist information and other services will help arriving guests. Shuttle buses will run daily to and from the facilities.
